In this video I show how to replace the thermostat and housing on a 2013 Chevy Sonic. This car had a code P0597 for the thermostat heater control circuit. There are two electrical plugins on this thermostat. One is for the thermostat heater. If you replace the whole housing them you will be replacing the thermostat and the heater as a unit so you don't have to worry about chasing one failed part and then another. Just a heads up the outlet hose on top of the housing broke when I tried to remove it from the housing. When I called the dealership to order the hose they told me that the hose almost always breaks when they replace the thermostat. (Facepalm) They should have told me this when I ordered the thermostat. Also the hose clamp pliers I used in the video makes it very easy to get to those hard to reach areas so I will put a link down below.
