In this video, we're looking at an important line in Poland, the line connecting Berlin with Warsaw. We start at the German border town of "Frankfurt an der Oder", not to be mistaken with "Frankfurt am Main" across the other side of the country.
The line from Frankfurt to Poznań (or Posen in German) was opened in 1870 and was entirely within the then German empire, which included the Prussian regions of present day Poland. After World War I, the line became partially Polish (a few stations after this video ends) and following World War II, the border was moved to the Oder river, which we cross at the start.
Speaking of the Oder river, it is very high as we cross it. Taking a look at the photo of the bridge on Wikipedia, you can see what it might look like under normal circumstances:
