Climb aboard the driver's cab for one of the most dramatic and scenic train journeys in Europe — from Bijelo Polje, near the Serbian border, all the way to Bar on the Adriatic coast. This spectacular ride follows the southern half of the iconic Belgrade–Bar railway, a masterpiece of 20th-century railway engineering and Montenegro’s main rail artery.
Stretching over 160 km, this section of the line crosses countless bridges and 100+ tunnels, descending from the mountainous north to the sparkling sea. The route includes the engineering marvels of the Mala Rijeka Viaduct — once the world’s highest railway bridge — and the Sozina Tunnel, one of the longest in the Balkans. The ever-changing landscape moves from deep canyons and forested gorges to olive groves and coastal vistas, all visible from the panoramic cab view.
Built during the Yugoslav era and completed in 1976, the line is fully electrified (25 kV AC) and known for its challenging terrain, sharp curves, and breathtaking altitude changes — from over 1,000 meters near Kolašin down to sea level in Bar. The train passes through charming stations such as Mojkovac, Kolašin, Podgorica, and Sutomore, capturing the soul of Montenegro’s wild beauty.
