The Bellinzona to Mesocco railway line had a turbulent history, and it would go beyond the scope of this publication to recount the entire story. Ultimately, the Società Esercizio Ferroviario Turistico (SEFT) operated a heritage railway from Castione-Arbedo to Cama until 2013. SEFT was unwelcome to the regional authorities, so the heritage railway unfortunately had to cease operations in 2013, and the tracks were dismantled. Only a few stations and viaducts now serve as reminders of this charming heritage railway.
