Introduction to Longji Tianlu (Dragon's Spine Sky Road) in Liupanshui

Longji Sky Road in Liupanshui, Guizhou Province, is a renowned rural highway famous for its thrilling terrain and breathtaking scenery. Winding along the ridges of the Zangke River basin, it has become a must-visit spot for adventure-seeking drivers and landscape photographers.

1. Basic Overview
Location: It is situated in Zangke Town, Liuzhi Special District, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, winding through the Longji Mountain area of the Zangke River basin.
Length & Altitude: The total length is approximately 15 kilometers. The altitude rises sharply from about 700 meters (near the Zangke River) to 1,700 meters, with a vertical drop of over 800 meters in some sections.
Curve Feature: There are as many as 72 sharp bends along the way. Some bends are closely adjacent to cliffs, making the driving experience both challenging and exciting.

2. Route & Driving Tips
Navigation Guidance: Search for "Liuzhi - Jiuyuan", "Chengzi Yakou" or "Libao Village" on navigation apps. The recommended route is to start from Libao Village and exit at Chengzi Yakou.
Road Condition: The entire road is paved with cement, but it is relatively narrow. Some sections have difficulty in passing other vehicles, so drivers need to be extra careful.
Driving Difficulty: It is known as the "ceiling of dangerous roads in Southwest China" and is not suitable for novice drivers to drive alone. The most dangerous "Shoubayan Cliff Section" is only about 3 meters wide, with an abyss on the outer side. Continuous Z-shaped bends and hairpin bends require drivers to stay focused and control the speed well.

3. Scenery Along the Way
Natural Landscapes: Along the road, there are numerous weird rocks and stones that look like they have been cut by knives and axes. At the top of the mountain, there is a stone forest, which makes people feel as if they are on an alien planet.
Panoramic Views: Standing on the top of the mountain, you can overlook the Zangke River, where the river shimmers in the sunlight. Opposite, the cliff of Laowang Mountain is as steep as being cut by a knife. You can also see the small grassland in the valley, with goats and horses foraging and playing there.

4. Surrounding Facilities
Attractions: Nearby is the Zangke River Scenic Area, where you can take a boat tour, go camping, and have a picnic. There is also Laowang Mountain; climbing to the top allows you to have a full view of Longji Tianlu and the Zangke River.
Accommodation: You can choose to stay in homestays in Zangke Town or camp on the top of the mountain.
Food: Local delicacies such as Shuicheng Laoguo (a kind of grilled food), Panxian Ham, and Liuzhi Yanjiao Noodles are available for tasting.
