Extremely Rusty & Burned Water Pump Restoration | Winding Completely Destroyed

Published at : 12 Dec 2025

In this video, I restore an extremely rusty and completely burned water pump motor.
This pump had been abandoned for years — the winding was destroyed, the motor was seized, and every part was covered in thick rust and corrosion.

To begin the restoration, I fully disassembled the entire pump.
All components were packed with dirt, rust, and burned coil residue, which I cleaned thoroughly.

For rust removal, I used both mechanical cleaning and rust-removal solutions to bring the metal back to its original condition.
The winding was completely burned beyond repair, so I rewound the entire coil from scratch with fresh insulation and proper layering.

Once the internal parts were restored, I turned my attention to the exterior.
I stripped away the old paint, removed casting marks, smoothed the surface, and prepared it for refinishing.
After applying primer, I repainted the housing to protect it from future corrosion and give it a clean new finish.

Damaged components were repaired where possible, and parts that could not be restored were newly fabricated.
Bearings, seals, and fasteners were cleaned or replaced to ensure smooth operation.

After restoring, rewinding, painting, and cleaning every part, I reassembled the water pump completely —
bringing this heavily damaged machine back to life.

If you have any questions about the process or the tools I use, feel free to ask in the comments.
I read everyone’s comments and do my best to reply.
