From Ruins to Reverence: The Buddha Carved from War

Published at : 13 Dec 2025

In this video, I found a 5cm-thick piece of wood, partially burnt at the top. Instead of discarding it, I decided to transform it into a meaningful artwork — a Buddha sculpture.

Step by step — cleaning, sketching, and hand-carving — the lifeless wood gradually reveals the serene and compassionate face of Buddha.

With finely detailed curls and soft facial lines, the sculpture brings a sense of peace, mindfulness, and spiritual calm.

The finished piece rests on a stylized lotus-shaped wooden base, supported by two metal rods for balance and strength.
