This car has been fighting us since the day we bought it (yes, we overpaid… yes, the driveshaft fell out… yes, regret), but we’re determined to get it road-legal again.
Instead of paying a pro thousands to fix the rust properly, we went “full send” and bought the most expensive flux-core welder on Temu. No idea if that’s smart.
But we’re learning, we’re trying, we’re definitely burning holes everywhere — and the car somehow still hasn’t caught fire.
In this episode we open up the side skirt, discover some creative repairs by previous owners, cut out the rotten metal, and try to rebuild it with the new welder. It’s not pretty, but it’s progress.
