STORY
We discovered a completely abandoned 16th-century church in France, with all its original artworks, statues, and relics still inside! Built in 1549, this hidden gem blends medieval and gothic architecture, and has been left untouched for over 50 years.
While exploring other abandoned places in France, we stumbled upon this forgotten church by accident. Despite being listed as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture, it has been left to decay due to years of neglect and delayed renovations by the local municipality.
The structure itself is breathtaking: the original medieval nave, followed by a stunning 1724 gothic addition built during a population boom in the region. Interestingly, there’s even a second abandoned church in this same town, currently undergoing restoration.
This video takes you deep inside one of the most mysterious abandoned churches in Europe. From faded frescoes and broken pews to untouched statues and sacred altars, it’s as if time stood still here. Since our visit, we've heard that restoration efforts have finally begun after decades of silence.
