About Kota Doria weaving of Rajasthan : "This separate weaving of Rajasthan actually originated in Mysore. In the late 17th century, also known as Masuriya, Maharao Kishore Singh, a general of the Mughal army, brought weavers from Mysore to Rajasthan, where he began the art of making Kota Doria saris. Sari is mainly produced in the Ansari community in Kota and Hadauti. Today, Kota Doria sari weavers are concentrated in villages outside the city of Kota. The main location of the weavers is the village of Kaithun (or Kaithoon), about 15 km from Kota. There are about 1500 weavers in this cluster."
