We were in a resort one afternoon and a slightly venomous Rat snake was just swimming not too far from where we were. The day before we were paddle boating on the same waters. We also saw some Brahminy kites pick baby snakes off the water. There are many frogs in and around the water, I reckon the snake came out to search for food. it was close to 4 feet long.
