In this video, I take something that most people throw away — a simple bolt — and transform it into a beautiful and fully functional hidden awl tool. This unique handmade creation combines woodworking, metalworking, twisting, and precision craftsmanship to reveal the true magic of imagination and skill.
Using just basic hand tools and my drill press lathe setup, I reshaped the bolt, twisted its form, and carefully polished it to perfection. The handle is crafted from solid wood, paired with brass, and the awl tip is hidden inside — making this one of the most elegant and surprising tools I’ve ever built.
